Presenter Biography:

Tara Tompai works as an Early Childhood Vision Consultant for an organization called Surrey Place in Toronto, Canada. She provides support to families who have children with visual impairment from birth to age four. Her role consists of working collaboratively with families, educators and therapists to create strategies to support learning, development and therapeutic goals.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Obtain basic knowledge of CVI.
  2. Understand elements of visual perception impacted by CVI.
  3. Learn about CVI strategies that can be implemented into therapy sessions/daily life that might provide a child with visual access to activities, objects, images and communication systems.
